The Wandering Jews Blues

Exile anguish Accused and abused Exile anguish Accused and abused No relief, no comfort The wandering Jews Away from the homeland Banished by the Lord Away from the homeland Banished by the Lord No place of rest By the nations abhorred The dry bones scattered Desolate, no hope The dry bones scattered Desolate, no hope The light extinguished In the darkness grope But then a stirring Marvelous and grand But then a stirring Marvelous and grand The bones come together A return to the land From around the world Regathered home From around the world Regathered home After long dire exile They no more roam Israel rose up Restored anew Israel rose up Restored anew Reborn nation of Jews Spirit breathed deep Into those dry bones Spirit breathed deep Into those dry bones God declared, you will live You will be my own Mountains grow green Fields bloom and thrive Mountains grow green Fields bloom and thrive As the Lord had declared Jewish nation is alive The Word never failed Though years were long The Word never failed Though years were long The Almighty is faithful Righteous and strong Many enemies roar But the nation stands Many enemies roar But the nation stands When God takes action No one breaks His plan
