What Halloween Night Really Looks Like at Shanghai Disneyland 🎃

Shanghai Disneyland's Halloween is the hottest event of the year, and I caught the whole night in first person — start to finish, no cuts. The moment you step in, the whole park is taken over by Halloween: pumpkin lanterns line the avenues, skeletons and tombstones stand on the lawns, and guests are in full costume as witches, ghosts and every Disney villain. No narration, no interruptions — you just follow my steps through the park as if you were really there. Treasure Cove is the liveliest spot. The pirate ships and harbor are dressed up for Halloween with pumpkin lights and skull flags, and as soon as the music kicks in the crowd is moving. Right next to it, in the Zootopia square, everyone dances holding their plush toys — some hugging Duffy, some waving LinaBell — light, music and cheers all mixed together, the most unhinged, most joyful moment of the night. Further in is the jack-o'-lantern dance party, the stage flashing the word "Crazy" as everyone jumps along together. Then comes the Coco / Día de los Muertos area, golden-orange lanterns strung all the way down the trick-or-treat trail — kids and adults alike line up for candy and go completely wild, even passing visitors can't resist joining. The grand finale is two special Halloween fireworks and light shows: one at Zootopia, then the main show in front of the castle. The castle lights up bit by bit, fireworks burst across the night sky one after another, set to the familiar themes — the whole night peaking at once.
