Cordoba to Orizaba! | Road Trip - Day 84 #dashcam

📅 Date: July 18, 2025 After establishing our base in Córdoba, we set out to explore one of the most talked-about destinations in Veracruz: 🌿 Orizaba. Located only about 30 minutes away, this Pueblo Mágico quickly became one of the biggest surprises of our journey through Mexico. What we expected to be a simple day trip turned into a visit to one of our favorite cities of the entire road trip. 🚙 Travel & Vehicle Telemetry 📅 Date: July 18, 2025 📍 Starting Point: Córdoba, Veracruz 🛣️ Route: Córdoba → Orizaba → Córdoba 🏁 Destination: Return to our base in Córdoba 🚙 Distance Driven: 52.9 km (32.9 mi) ⛽ Fuel Consumed: 4.066 L 💵 Fuel Cost: $114.13 MXN 🌊 Walking the Río Orizaba After parking the Jeep, we began exploring one of Orizaba's most famous attractions: 🌿 Paseo del Río. The riverside walking path immediately reminded us of the famous River Walk in San Antonio, Texas. The route follows the river through the city and creates a unique urban space that combines nature, recreation, and local culture. One aspect that generated a lot of discussion during our visit was the animal reserve located along parts of the river. Seeing rescued animals in the care of the city led us to reflect on conservation, rehabilitation, and the challenges involved in caring for wildlife. ❤️ Falling in Love with Orizaba As we continued exploring, one thing became clear: Orizaba is an exceptionally well-maintained city. The streets were clean. Public spaces were attractive. The atmosphere felt safe and welcoming. And the city seemed genuinely proud of itself. Everywhere we looked we saw the slogan: 😊 "Sonríe, estás en Orizaba." By the end of the day, we completely understood why. Among all the places visited during the trip, Orizaba immediately earned a spot near the top of our favorites list. One detail we especially appreciated was something many travelers rarely mention: 🚻 Clean public restrooms. For only a few pesos, visitors had access to well-maintained facilities throughout the area. It's a small detail, but good urban services significantly improve the visitor experience. 🚗 The Parking Lesson of the Day Every road trip seems to teach a new logistical lesson. Today's lesson involved parking. Before leaving your vehicle anywhere in Mexico: ✅ Ask for the closing time. Do not assume the information shown on Google is accurate. In Orizaba, we learned that many parking facilities operate with strict closing hours. A traveler who isn't paying attention could easily find their vehicle locked inside overnight. Fortunately, we asked first.
