In 1939, no star in America sold more movie tickets than Mickey Rooney. Seventy-two years later, a court filing described him as "effectively a prisoner in his own home." This documentary follows the houses of his life: a vaudeville stage in Brooklyn, the Los Angeles family home where his fifth wife died in 1966 while he lay in a hospital bed, the house by the lake in Westlake Village at the center of the 2011 elder abuse case, and the rented house in Studio City where he died in 2014 with an estate of about $18,000.
