A 4K walk in Nagoya, Japan, to Kasadera Kannon on market day. On the 6th, 16th and 26th of every month, this old temple holds its Roku-no-ichi market — stalls along the approach, fruit and vegetables out back, and grilled dango. The walk starts at Sakura-Hommachi Station on a sunny Friday and ends at Moto-Kasadera Station. Filmed October 16, 2026 This time, you walk with Shin, who has lived in Nagoya for almost 40 years. There is no spoken narration — Shin speaks to you through short English captions on screen. Today's goal is the temple market — and something good to eat. On the grounds, you pass a stone honoring Miyamoto Musashi, the famous swordsman, who once stayed at a temple here while hoping to serve the Owari domain. Legend says a girl once covered a rain-soaked Kannon statue with her hat. That's how the temple got its name: Kasadera means "hat temple." Inside the main hall, strings of paper cranes hang from the ceiling, folded as prayers. Then comes Mizukake Jizo, where you pour water and make a wish, and the morning market with fresh fruit, vegetables and fish. Shin buys one stick of tamari mitarashi dango for 100 yen — light, and it tastes like the good old days. No spoken narration. ▶ Chapters 0:00 Highlights 0:44 Sakura-Hommachi Station on a Friday 2:07 Kasadera Kannon on market day 3:49 Miyamoto Musashi's stone 5:20 The lotus pond and the front gate 6:04 The main hall 6:41 Inside the main hall 7:31 Paper cranes overhead 9:54 The pagoda and Mizukake Jizo 11:04 Stalls all over the temple grounds 11:46 The morning market 14:07 Mitarashi dango 14:50 Back through the temple grounds 16:29 Leaving Kasadera 17:31 Moto-Kasadera Station More walks with Shin: Nunoike Church, from sunset to the night light-up:    • 🇯🇵 Nagoya Walk | Nunoike Church, from Suns...   A Thai festival at Nittaiji Temple, Kakuozan:    • 🇯🇵 Nagoya Walk | Thai Festival at Nittaiji...   ▶ Good for ・Seeing an everyday temple market in Japan ・Old temples and local food in Nagoya ・Planning a trip to Nagoya ・Virtual travel to Japan ▶ About this walk Route : Sakura-Hommachi Station → Kasadera Kannon (Roku-no-ichi market) → Moto-Kasadera Station Weather : Clear Time : Friday morning Length : About 18 minutes Video : 4K / 30fps / English captions / no spoken narration Subscribe for a new Nagoya walk    / @thenagoyawalkingshow   ▶ Playlists Nagoya Temples & Shrines    • Nagoya Temples & Shrines   Nagoya Night Walks    • Nagoya Night Walks   Nagoya Station Walks    • Nagoya Station Walks   Sakae Walks    • Sakae Walks   Osu Walks    • Osu Walks   Rainy Nagoya    • Rainy Nagoya   Day Trips from Nagoya    • Day Trips from Nagoya   #nagoya #kasadera #japanwalk #4kwalk #templemarket
