WILD MOGULS TV: PERSPECTIVE - MARCHINEE “MARSH” LEWIS “School Was My Escape From the Streets!” Before reality television, before Baddies, and before the fame, Marchinee “Marsh” Lewis was fighting to escape the environment she grew up in. In this powerful and deeply personal conversation, Marsh takes us back to Richmond, California, where she experienced street violence, family struggles, incarceration, and foster care at an incredibly young age. After entering juvenile hall at just 12 years old, Marsh began questioning whether there was more to life than the streets. She opens up about losing her grandmother, dealing with addiction within her family, becoming a ward of the court, and learning how to accept help from people outside her immediate family. But her story takes a different direction when she moves to Sacramento at 16. There, education becomes her escape. She discovers theater and acting, reconnects with childhood friends, experiences a different way of living, and begins building a relationship with God that ultimately helps lead her to Los Angeles. Marsh also reveals how she became the first person in her family to attend college and why she believes leaving Richmond helped break the psychological hold her environment had on her.
