Our Oregon Trail journey continues west from Independence Rock as we finally reach the Continental Divide and push toward Fort Bridger. The trail is starting to take its toll: Nelly suffers a serious injury beneath the wagon wheel, James is still recovering from his gunshot wound, supplies and wagon space require constant attention, and even the oxen are beginning to have problems. We also do some hunting, attempt a rather unimpressive fishing challenge, meet more travelers, and take the safer option when we reach the dangerous Green River crossing. The biggest diversion comes just before Fort Bridger, when one of our missing dragoons recruits us to help solve a murder. What follows is a surprisingly elaborate investigation involving five suspects, conflicting testimony, handwriting samples, footprints, a left-handed murder weapon, and far more note-taking than I expected from The Oregon Trail. We eventually reach Fort Bridger, reunite with some familiar travelers, attend a wedding, recruit another pair of musicians for Louis Southworth’s planned band, restock the wagon, and prepare for the next stage of the journey. Key points: Leaving Independence Rock and climbing toward the Continental Divide Nelly suffers a serious injury after being run over by the wagon Hunting for meat and valuable pelts Rescuing more of the missing dragoons Crossing the Rocky Mountains and choosing the route toward Fort Bridger A fishing challenge that goes considerably less impressively than planned Reaching the dangerous Green River and wisely paying for the ferry Helping a dragoon investigate a murder along the trail Sorting through suspects, alibis, handwriting, footprints, and a suspicious murder weapon Recruiting a brother-and-sister musical duo for Louis Southworth’s band Reaching Fort Bridger with the entire party still alive and no dysentery Attending Ava and Douglas’s wedding and completing the Star-Crossed Lovers quest Restocking and repairing before continuing west toward Oregon Original History Content:    / @happyshistory   History Reactions:    / @happys_history_reactions   Gaming Channel:    / @happy_gaming_channel   #TheOregonTrail #OregonTrail #Gaming #LetsPlay #HistoricalGaming #HistoryGaming
