Late Summer Railfanning Journey Day 1 Part 1 (August 2025)

Back in August, I went to Washington DC and Alexandria, VA to railfan on multiple days. This is a compilation of railfanning clips from the first day at King St. Station. This video features trains from Amtrak, VRE, WMATA and CSX. Enjoy 0:53 Starting off strong, MARC MP36PH-3C #20 arrives at Greenbelt with Camden Line Train #851 bound for Washington DC. MP36PH-3C #34 was trailing. This my first time seeing a MARC push-pull service. 3:32 I managed to catch a view of the College Park Purple Line Light Rail station. Construction is looking pretty good at this point 6:30 Managed to catch a VRE commuter train heading to Ivy City railyard while passing through NoMa Gallaudet. 10:58 My first time seeing a WMATA station with 3 platforms instead of the normal 2 at Ronald Reagan International Airport station 15:06 Managed to catch ALC-42 #365 with Northeast Regional Train #174 bound for Boston, passing by Potomac Yard. 15:15 Amfleet I Coach in the Phase VII scheme, #82765 19:42 CSX maintenance crew comes through with a few highrailers 22:10 Northound CSX intermodal passes through with ET44AH #3312 and CM44AH #7104 leading the train. 22:55 While the intermodal was coming through, Amtrak P42DC #23 arrived with Northeast Regional #84 bound for New York. 30:26 CSX SD40-2 #8138 arrives with a Raptor Rail consist 33:37 ALC-42 #334 arrives with Northeast Regional #134 bound for New York. 39:24 Here I ramble a bit about what a Raptor Rail Train is. 43:49 I managed to spot WMATA Silverliners #7392 and #7393 in an ad wrap for Keeper Federal on a Blue Line train to Largo 44:57 A Southbound CSX intermodal highballs through Alexandria with AC44CWs #338 and #128 in the YN2 scheme leading the train. 47:11 Raptor Rail Train laying down the rail. 57:34 P42DC #76 arrived with Northeast Regional #141 bound for Norfolk. 58:10 Amfleet I Coach in the Phase VII scheme, #82574 59:11 WMATA Silverliners #7281 and #7280 in an ad wrap for RAFT on a Blue Line train to Largo.
