In this final project wrap-up, I look at whether it’s truly possible to build a complete MMORPG using AI. Over the past few months, I tested how far a basic AI subscription (Grok AI) could take a solo developer—building out the client, server, and editor tooling on the weekends. What was covered and demonstrated in this video: Core game mechanics: Food regeneration systems, browser-based IndexedDB minimap exploration, skill/XP tracking, and player-to-player trading. Architecture: Splitting the project into client, server, content manager, and custom map editor. The biggest AI bottleneck: Generating cohesive 2D pixel art, tilesets, and sprite sheets (plus experimental workarounds). The future of game dev: Why we might see an explosion of AI-generated MMOs by 2027, why players will likely stick to giants like RuneScape, Tibia, and WoW, and the looming problem of AI botting/cheating. Source Code & Repository: All code repositories for this project (Haunted Design Lab) are available on GitHub: 👉 https://github.com/haeretici?tab=repo... I’ll be shifting focus to new AI-assisted software and development projects soon. #AIGameDev #MMORPG #IndieGameDev #GrokAI #GameDevelopment #CodingWithAI #WebDev
