The covenant people assembled as one, Their journey of faith newly begun. Their names were inscribed in the heavenly way, Their hearts turned toward the eternal day. The circle was sealed by mercy and light, A people prepared to walk upright. The aged king stood where the faithful had heard, Bearing witness through covenant word. The crown that he carried he laid down in peace, Trusting God's order would never cease. The lamp of the kingdom passed hand unto hand, According to wisdom and heaven's command. The watchman departed, his labor complete, Another stood ready upon the wall's keep. O Lord of the covenant, Keeper of all, Thy kingdom shall stand though kingdoms may fall. Through servants appointed and hearts made true, Thy work continues in all that we do. Generation to generation proclaim, The goodness and mercy found in Thy name. The Shepherd still gathers, the pathway remains, And Zion advances through covenant chains. Mosiah arose by the will of the Lord, Entrusted to govern by covenant word. Not merely a throne and not merely a crown, But stewardship sacred handed down. The records were guarded, the law was maintained, The people instructed and truth sustained. The river flowed onward though one stream had passed, For God's holy purposes ever shall last. One star yields softly to morning's bright flame, Yet heaven continues forever the same. One watchman rests while another takes place, Still facing the dawn with faith in God's grace. The mountain endures though pilgrims may roam, The temple remains as the beacon of home. The covenant pathway stretches ahead, By prophets and servants continually led. The saints were diligent all of their days, Walking together in covenant ways. Remembering promises made before God, Following faithfully where they were trod. The harvest increased through obedience and prayer, The blessings of heaven descended there. Until the great King shall return from above, To gather His people in everlasting love. O Lord of the covenant, Keeper of all, Thy kingdom shall stand though kingdoms may fall. Through servants appointed and hearts made true, Thy work continues in all that we do. Generation to generation proclaim, The goodness and mercy found in Thy name.
