Today, we’re making a delicious traditional homemade date bread in our cozy village kitchen. 🌿🔥 We start by preparing a simple, soft bread dough with wheat flour, yeast, salt, black seeds, water, and a little oil. For the filling, we remove the pits from the dates and gently fry them with a little oil over hot embers. Once the dates become soft, we mash them into a smooth paste. Then we roll out the dough, spread the date paste generously over it, and add finely ground walnuts. We roll everything together, cut it into soft pillow-shaped pieces, and place the date bread in the hot baking area of our traditional stove until beautifully golden and fully baked. 🔥 A small note: When we say we place the bread “under the stove/fire,” we mean the hot baking space underneath the fire area — not directly on the flames or burning coals.
