Timestamps OO:22 Intro 02:11 Movement Quality Exercises 04:01 Tissue Capacity: Quadriceps 07:46 Tissue Capacity: Hamstrings What causes pain on the inner part of my knee? The pes anserine is a region of the knee where the tendons of the semitendinosus (a hamstring muscle), the gracilis (inner thigh muscle), and sartorius (front of thigh muscle) join together along the medial knee. Due to the shared insertion of these muscle, when one muscle becomes overused or irritated it can affect the others that attach onto this region. What should knee rehab start with? First and foremost you'd want to make sure you aren't doing an exercise that you aren't supposed to be doing due to a torn meniscus or ligament. You can watch this video to help you identify which issue you are experiencing but ultimately getting help from a professional is recommended. For the issue explained in this video, you should be able to tolerate weight bearing movements like walking and have full range of motion of the knee. Should you use heat or ice? Can I take NSAIDS? What should I avoid? These are all great questions to ask, especially as it can affect your overall recovery experience. To get personalized advice is it always recommended to consult your healthcare team. At Rehab Hero we take a full body approach to recovery.
