Every AI company has pulled the rug on somebody this year. Google repriced Gemini and quietly broke every workflow built on the old cost math. Anthropic paywalled my daily driver mid-month. I got caught flat footed twice and didn't rebuild anything, and that isn't luck. None of my systems are caged. Here's the part nobody says: this isn't villainy, it's the race. These companies are in a perpetual sprint to one-up each other, and every time one of them succeeds, users get flat footed again. Even the upgrades are rug-pulls. When a substantially better model drops, you can't ignore it, and everything you built around the old one has to move. So the real question isn't how to avoid the whiplash. It's which parts of your setup walk out of the cage and take the corner with you, and the answer is: the parts that improve how YOU work instead of how the provider works. This video is an audit of my actual stack, on camera, plank by plank: what lives free on my disk, what lives in a vendor's cage, and the one embarrassing plank I can't move. • The rug-pulls, with receipts • The audit: rules, skills, hooks, corpus. Caged or free? • The plank that stays in the cage (yes, it's on camera) • The demo: one record of how I work, answered by two different companies' AI • Why everything I build targets how I think, not what the vendor shipped this month _____ The engine that makes your history provider-agnostic (imports ChatGPT, claude.ai, Codex, Gemini — free, runs local): https://github.com/marctalkstomachine... Every tool from my videos, free (leave your email and the workbench comes to you): https://marctalkstomachines.com Audit one piece of your own setup in the comments: tell me if it's caged or unbound. I read and respond to everything. Subscribe if you build with AI and want the systems layer, not the prompt tricks. _____ Chapters 00:00 Every AI company rug-pulled somebody this year 00:59 Your AI knowledge has an expiration date 01:30 What 8 years in trading taught me about rug-pulls 02:13 The arms race — why this keeps happening 02:33 Even the upgrade is a rug-pull 03:02 The video I made because I got rug-pulled 03:50 An uncaged system harvests the race 04:03 Meta-tooling, and the frame: caged or unbound 04:34 The audit — corpus, rules, skills 05:11 The plank that stays in the cage 05:35 The ship, extended 06:04 Same corpus, two different AIs 07:23 Cornering at speed 07:46 I'm not building for the crash _____ #ClaudeCode #ChatGPT #AI #Productivity #Claude
