LISTEN TO THEIR CRY | DEVOETRY

When I wrote this I had been teaching for almost 17 years. I wrote this on October 18, 2015. I was working in an alternative ed program in the county where all the kids who were there got there because they did something bad. Over the years as a coach and a teacher, we come across so many lives and their behaviors are horrible. A lot of times we don't realize it's their cry. I read this devotional the other day and went to work on letting it turn into a song. The words are old but this technology is new. It is so amazing to help turn these written words, inspired by God, into beautiful songs, which has always been my dream, and to help kids who come from brokenness to find the light (like so many of us who teach and coach do).
