In this Woodthorp International model railway update, Colin shows how he wires MP1 point motors, connects the electrical terminals safely, and sets up the point mechanisms for reliable operation on his growing model railway layout. If you're interested in model railway wiring, DCC point control or building a layout with iTrain automation, this video shares practical tips from my own experience. I explain how I use wire connectors and crimp terminals with MP1 point motors, how the three upper connections control the point movement, and how the lower connections switch the frog polarity. I also demonstrate how to adjust the point motor position, route the wires neatly underneath the baseboard, and avoid stray wire strands that could cause electrical shorts. There's also an exciting software update, as I've upgraded from iTrain 5 to iTrain 6. I show the clearer interface, improved windows and how the software helps manage locomotives and automatic train movements. Finally, sit back and watch the Japanese E7 and E5 bullet trains operating on the layout. The trains follow their programmed movements, wait for blocks to clear and return to the station, demonstrating the progress towards a fully automated model railway. I also share highlights from visiting the Wally and Get exhibitions, meeting fellow railway modellers and enjoying two brilliant days with the model railway community. 🚆 *Topics covered in this video:* How to wire an MP1 point motor MP1 point motor connectors and crimp terminals Frog polarity switching explained Avoiding short circuits when wiring model railway points Adjusting and installing MP1 point motors Organising wires underneath the layout Upgrading from iTrain 5 to iTrain 6 iTrain 6 interface and locomotive control improvements Automatic train operation using blocks Japanese E7 and E5 Shinkansen model trains Model railway exhibitions and meeting fellow enthusiasts If you enjoy model railway wiring, DCC, iTrain automation and watching trains run, please give the video a thumbs up, subscribe to Woodthorp International and leave a comment. I'd love to hear about your own experiences with MP1 point motors and model railway automation. Thanks very much for watching, and I'll see you in the next video! Colin Woodthorp International
