10 short French conversations for beginners, level A1-A2, all about food and the restaurant. Every conversation is introduced in English, then spoken entirely in French. Slow and clear listening practice. Scene 1 - At the restaurant: ordering a dish. "Je voudrais voir la carte." (I would like to see the menu.) "Je vais le prendre." (I am going to have it.) "Le plat arrive dans combien de temps?" (How long until the dish arrives?) Scene 2 - On the terrace: asking for the bill. "Je voudrais aussi l'addition." (I would also like the bill.) "L'addition fait vingt-quatre euros." (The bill comes to twenty-four euros.) "Je peux payer par carte?" (Can I pay by card?) Scene 3 - In the kitchen: cooking together. "On va faire des pâtes à la tomate." (We are going to make tomato pasta.) "Tu vas couper les tomates?" (Are you going to cut the tomatoes?) "Tu peux goûter la sauce?" (Can you taste the sauce?)
