Your Failure Isn't the End
Have you ever failed and wondered:
"Can God still use me?"
Peter knew that feeling.
He told Jesus he would never deny Him. Yet when fear and pressure came, Peter did exactly that.
It would have been easy for Peter to decide his calling was over.
That he had failed too badly.
That he was damaged goods.
But Jesus wasn't finished with Peter.
In today's devotional, Tony connects Peter's restoration with a remarkable moment later in Peter's ministry—the raising of Tabitha, also known as Dorcas, in Acts 9.
Scriptures & Biblical Accounts Referenced:
📖 Acts 9:36-43 — Tabitha/Dorcas
📖 Peter's denial of Jesus
📖 Jesus restoring Peter — "Do you love Me?" / "Feed My sheep"
In This Devotional:
✝️ Peter's failure and restoration
✝️ Why failure doesn't have to end your calling
✝️ God's ability to use imperfect people
✝️ Getting back up after you've fallen
✝️ Continuing to serve when you feel unqualified
✝️ Trusting that God can use your past for a future purpose
Think about what would have happened if Peter had allowed his greatest failure to define the rest of his life.
What if he had simply gone back to fishing?
What if he had decided:
"I denied Jesus. God can't use me anymore."
Peter would have missed everything God still intended to do through him.
Instead, Jesus restored him and told him:
"Follow Me."
Later, when Tabitha died, Peter was called to Joppa. He prayed, spoke the words "Tabitha, arise," and she opened her eyes.
Tony's encouragement is simple:
Don't allow yesterday's failure to make you abandon tomorrow's calling.
Maybe you've messed up.
Maybe you've disappointed yourself.
Maybe you believe you've disqualified yourself from ever being useful again.
Peter's story reminds us that God can still work through people who have fallen and gotten back up.
There is still work to be done.
Keep walking.
Keep trusting.
Keep serving.
And be willing to rise up and do what God has called you to do.

Has God ever used a past failure to prepare you for something He called you to later?
