What Is Life Really Like as a British Muslim Housewife? | Day in My Life

Come along for a day in my life as a British Muslim housewife and mum of seven. In this video I'm sharing one of my busier days, including our weekly grocery shop, meal planning and prepping food for the week ahead – with a little Netflix squeezed in along the way! 😄 I'm also chatting about what life as a housewife in the UK is actually like for me. Do housewives really sit around watching Netflix all day? Definitely not in my house! 😂 Over the years I've developed routines and systems that make running a busy household more manageable. Meal planning and meal prepping are a big part of that. I don't believe that being a homemaker means you have to spend every spare moment cooking and cleaning. Finding shortcuts and creating routines gives me more time for my family as well as my own hobbies, interests and creativity. I also share a little of my story in this video – from studying chemistry at university, becoming a mum, returning to university to train as a teacher, working as a maths teacher and eventually becoming a full-time stay-at-home mum and YouTuber. We also chat about the value of homemaking and why I believe running a home really is a job in itself. There are so many different roles involved, particularly when you're raising a family at the same time. Right now, I'm very happy and content with this season of my life, Alhamdulillah. That doesn't mean I'll never work outside the home again, but I don't think women should feel that homemaking is somehow less valuable simply because society doesn't always recognise it in the same way as paid employment.
