Joshua Brandstadter, MD, PhD, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, discusses his research investigating stromal cells in lymph nodes to aid in the diagnosis of Castleman disease. The research shows that myofibroblasts are much more differentially expanded compared to T-zone fibroblastic reticular cells. This work aims to develop immunohistochemical stains that can be used by hematopathologists to improve diagnosis for patients with Castleman disease. This interview took place at the 66th ASH Annual Meeting and Exposition, held in San Diego, CA.
