Professor Supriya Chaudhuri: Professor Supriya Chaudhuri is a distinguished Indian scholar of English literature and cultural critic, and Professor Emerita in the Department of English at Jadavpur University, Kolkata. Educated at Presidency College, Calcutta, and the University of Oxford, where she received her doctoral degree in Renaissance literature, she has made significant contributions to literary and cultural studies. Interviewer: Professor Paromita Chakravarti Professor Paromita Chakravarti is a distinguished scholar of English literature and Professor in the Department of English at Jadavpur University, Kolkata. She completed her doctoral studies at the University of Oxford, specialising in early modern discourses of madness. Her research and teaching interests include Renaissance drama, Shakespeare studies, women’s writing, gender and queer studies, and film studies. Professor Chakravarti has been Director of the School of Women’s Studies at Jadavpur University and has held visiting fellowships at several renowned universities, including Oxford, Liverpool, Amsterdam, Birmingham, and the University of Delhi. Her academic work engages with literature, gender, sexuality, cultural representation, and the social dimensions of education. She has also led national and international research projects on gender representation in school textbooks, sexuality education, women’s higher education, and the experiences of marginalised women. Through her scholarship and interdisciplinary engagement, Professor Chakravarti has made significant contributions to literary studies and feminist scholarship in India. ........
