Learn the sequence for intranasal medication administration with a mucosal atomizing device (MAD): patient preparation, supplies, medication checks, drawing up, nasal inspection, delivery and reassessment. Includes a supplies checklist and a quick check on medication clarity and expiration.
Blood or mucus can reduce nasal absorption. The Teleflex MAD Nasal guide describes dividing medication between nostrils, with the second administration if indicated; BCEHS PR11 also describes using each nostril. Follow the instructions for your device, the medication directions and your local protocol. This demonstration delivers into one nostril. The filmed device model is unverified, and the 2017 Teleflex guide is supplementary guidance rather than the full instructions for use.
Medication safety extends beyond the five rights named here. Broader checklists also address allergies, expiration and documentation. Assess the response and any adverse effects, and provide ventilation support when needed.

Removed the opening title and closing notice; added a live cold open, persistent supplies panel, medication-checks side panel, recall check, sourced teaching cards, chapters and Qualora closing card. All procedure steps remain at real speed. The final teaching card stays visible while the original picture fades and the last spoken sentence completes. Captions retain the incomplete sharps sentence without adding unheard words.
