Reuben Grove & The Memory Sons – Roots beside the Ancestor Stone [Unreleased 1973 Album]Roots Reggae

Roots beside the Ancestor Stone is a fictional unreleased-album concept imagined as an earthy 1973 roots-reggae recording centered on ancestry, memory and the responsibility of one generation to another. Deep bass settles beneath patient drums, warm organ and sparse guitar skanks, while weathered horns and tape echoes give the music the atmosphere of stories being passed beneath an old tree as evening settles across the hills. Across ten roots-conscious songs, Reuben Grove & The Memory Sons trace the connection between people, land and inherited memory. Old footsteps remain in the earth, children carry the names of those who came before, and sleeping seeds awaken when the rain returns. The ancestral stone becomes a symbol of continuity rather than nostalgia—a place where the past offers wisdom for the future. Closing with Leave a Tree for Those to Come, the album turns remembrance into responsibility: honor the ancestors by leaving something worthy for the generations ahead. TRACKLIST 1.
