Sometimes the individual pieces don’t make sense until you experience the whole recipe. That hit me during an anniversary dinner with my wife when we tried a meal that came with two sauces. Separately, one of them didn’t seem to make much sense. Together — exactly as the chef intended — it was completely different. It reminded me of something I’ve heard over and over in business: sometimes you have to run the play before you fully understand why the play works. But that doesn’t mean shutting off your judgment. Do the research. Check the facts. Examine your motives. Understand the risks. Make sure the decision aligns with your values.
