Learn how to design a diaphragm spring in SolidWorks — the part that replaced a dozen coil springs in modern clutch systems with a single, more compact design. In this video, I walk through the process of modeling the diaphragm spring: ✅ Revolve the base conical disc profile ✅ Sketch and cut one finger profile ✅ Circular Pattern the finger cut around the full disc ✅ Cut the center bore Older clutch designs used a ring of coil springs to press the pressure plate against the flywheel. A diaphragm spring does the same job with one part instead of many — it's lighter, more compact, and keeps a more consistent clamping force as the clutch disc wears down over time. ⏱️ Chapters 00:00 Final Part Preview 00:05 Sketching & Revolving the base disc 05:20 Sketching & Cutting one finger profile 09:35 Circular Pattern for the remaining fingers 🔧 Commands used: Revolve, Extruded Cut, Circular Pattern 📌 Subscribe to Learn CAD with Billu - this is the start of a new Clutch Project build series. #SolidWorks #CADTutorial #MechanicalEngineering #Projects #SolidWorksProjects
