Learn how to design a clutch pressure plate in SolidWorks - the second part in my Clutch Project series, following the diaphragm spring.
In this video, I walk through the actual feature tree used to build it:
✅ Extrude-Thin for the main thin-walled disc body
✅ Three separate Boss-Extrude features to build up the raised sections and mounting bosses
✅ Fillet the edges for a realistic, cast-metal finish
✅ Circular Pattern to repeat the tab feature around the full perimeter
The pressure plate is the part that actually gets pushed by the diaphragm spring from the last video - it's what clamps the clutch disc against the flywheel, so the tabs around its edge have to transmit real rotational torque while still letting the plate move slightly back and forth as the clutch engages and disengages.
