Drain off excess liquid. Transfer the turkey mixture to a 3 1/2 or 4 quart slow cooker. Stir in the tomato sauce, tomato paste, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, 5 tsp of the liquid smoke, the seasoned salt, and pepper. Cover and cook on the low heat setting for 6 to 7 hours. Stir in remaining 1 tsp of liquid smoke. Sere on sourdough roll halves, on bread slices, or in small bread loaves. CHILE-CHEESE REFRIED BEAN DIP (pg 11) 1 - 16oz can fat free refried beans 1 - 8oz package cream cheese, cut into cubes, softened 3/4c chopped scallions 1 - 4oz can diced green chiles 3/4c shredded Cheddar cheese 1 - 2 1/4oz can sliced ripe olives, rinsed and drained Tortilla chips, for serving In a 1 quart mini electric slow cooker, mix together the refried beans and cream cheese. Stir in the scallions and chiles. Cover, plug int he cooker, and cook 2 hours, stirring once or twice, until very hot. Mix in 1/2c cheese and the olives. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4c cheese on top. Serve immediately with tortilla chips for dipping. TORTELLINI AND VEGETABLE SOUP (pg 45) 2 - 14 1/2 cans vegetable broth 1 - 15oz can whole kernel corn, drained 1 medium leek (white and tender green), rinsed and well chopped 2 garlic cloves, crushed through a press 1/4c chopped fresh basil 28oz diced peeled tomatoes 1 red bell pepper, chopped 2c chopped zucchini (about 1 medium) 1 - 9oz package fresh cheese tortellini 1/2 tsp garlic pepper Grate Parmesan cheese, for serving In a 4 quart slow cooker, mix together all the ingredients except the grated cheese. Cover and cook on the high heat setting 3 1/2 to 4 hours.
