Do Christians have to be perfect to follow Jesus? No. Christianity was never about becoming flawless before coming to Christ, but grace is also not a licence to remain unchanged. A comment on Channel 4’s Handcuffed prompted me to think about the idea that Christians are supposed to live completely “stain-free” lives. But when we look at Jesus in Scripture, we see Him repeatedly drawing near to people who were sinful, rejected or spiritually sick. In this video, we look at what Jesus’ interactions with the woman caught in adultery, the woman at the well, Levi, publicans and sinners reveal about Christian perfection, grace, repentance and following Jesus. Jesus did not come for people who already had everything together. He came for people who knew they needed Him. But His message was never simply “stay as you are.” He offers grace, forgiveness and restoration and calls us to repent and walk differently. Scriptures discussed: 📌John 8:10 - 11 - the woman caught in adultery 📌John 4 - Jesus and the woman at the well 📌Mark 2:14 - 17 - Levi, publicans and sinners, and Jesus as the physician for the sick The question is not whether Christians are perfect. The question is whether we are willing to keep returning to Christ, repent and be changed by Him. #Christianity #JesusChrist #ChristianLiving #Repentance #Grace
