Fall asleep in Tudor England. Tonight we wander slowly through daily life in England between 1485 and 1603, the age of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I: dawn in a village and its parish church, ploughing, sowing and the harvest in the open fields, timber-framed houses of wattle and daub, pottage, bread and ale, market day and the great fairs, London Bridge and the River Thames, doublets, ruffs and the sumptuary laws, hornbooks and the grammar school, apprentices and the London guilds, physicians, herbs and the mysterious sweating sickness, the Reformation in the parish, the royal court at Hampton Court, Queen Elizabeth on summer progress, an afternoon at the Globe, Christmas revels and May Day, and finally candles, the night watch and sleep. Calm, slow narration for sleep, insomnia, relaxing, or studying. After the story ends, about 40 minutes of soft ambient sound continue, so nothing wakes you.
