In April 1945, outside Offingen, Germany, a Sherman equipped with the T34 Calliope from Company C, 714th Tank Battalion joined artillery, mortars, assault guns, and infantry of the 56th Armored Infantry Battalion in a renewed American attack. This video follows how the 60-tube 4.5-inch rocket launcher delivered a rapid barrage, why dispersion and the demands of reloading limited what it could accomplish, and how American infantry still had to clear the town, protect exposed flanks, coordinate with neighboring units, and turn a bombarded objective into ground they could actually hold.
