Upton United Women vs Normanton Pro Stars Goaldiggers

Yes you read that right! Upton United Community Sports Club has it's first ever women's team! Formed in April from mother's of some of our junior teams' players, these women spent many a weekend morning at the sidelines and courageously stepped up and have spent the last few months learning the game and honing their skills. The season's opening game in the WBL with the Upton Women taking on Normanton Pro Star Goaldiggers in their first ever competitive league match. Today was about learning, fun and putting together everything they've learned over the summer into practice. With the team yet to score a goal, or keep a clean sheet, lots of "firsts" up for grabs.
