How Do People Survive This Extreme Winter in Siachen? | Life in Goma Valley What is life really like in Siachen when winter arrives? 🥶❄️ In this video, I take you deep into the remote Goma Valley of Siachen to show you how local people continue their daily lives in one of the coldest and most difficult environments in Pakistan. As winter begins, the mountains are already receiving light snowfall, temperatures are dropping, and everyday life becomes a real challenge. You will see local children carrying and playing with goats, showing a beautiful and simple side of village life. At the same time, the people of Goma Valley are facing a serious transportation problem after floods washed away their main bridge. With no easy way to cross the river, local people are working together to build a temporary wooden bridge using wood, nails and whatever resources are available to them. This simple bridge is extremely important because it provides a way for people to cross the river and continue their daily activities. I also show how people protect themselves from the extreme cold, how they use fire to keep their bodies warm, how they prepare food in freezing conditions, and what kind of work they continue doing despite the harsh weather. One of the most difficult moments comes when a tractor/machine gets stuck in the river while people are trying to carry out their work. This is not just a travel vlog. It is a real look at the difficult, simple and resilient life of the people living in Siachen’s remote Goma Valley during the beginning of winter.
