Making a relaxing lo-fi beat with a DIY noise box

Loopy Pro session with a DIY piezo noise box I built lately. It's a handmade "instrument" featuring springs, a brass wire connector, and metal rods and springs attached to it... essentially a "DIY kalimba." I’m running the piezo signals through some effects in Loopy Pro to turn those raw metallic textures into a relaxing lo-fi beat. Everything you hear is triggered by physically playing the springs and wires. To build the track in Loopy, I used some usual tools that noise box people go with: a toothbrush, a violin bow, and a rubber mallet. I also used a standard 8-note kalimba, placing it on the box so the piezo could pick up the resonance (I didn't use any other mic or pickup, but only that 20mm piezo disk that was glued inside the box). Piezo discs are beginner-friendly to solder onto a regular guitar jack, and they're very cheap too (around $0.50 or even less). The signal runs through a piezo preamp (helps the piezo to be less unpredictable) and an iRig USB into my phone. It took some patience to tune the rods and avoid clipping the piezo, because if I play it a bit harder, the notes can go into oblivion in a heartbeat - destroying the track. I still have more to learn about piezos and how to use and regulate them properly, but I'm enjoying it so far.
