Vijay Nagar slum, a unique slum which is separated from CGS Colony Sector 7 by a wall. I was always curious about what lies beyond the wall. so i took a walking tour of the place. We start from Bharni naka towards the SRA clusters.A big road along the wall leads us to the Vijaynagar slum. In the past the slum was notorious for the gangwar between Fernandes and Botawala gangs for the pilfered water and electricity black marketing. We see that the houses are alongside the road.There are many small scale industies and shops.Roads arw full of water puddles and parked bikes. There is a religious harmony shown by the flags of different religion fluttering in the sky. As we move forward we meet a cul-de-sac but luckily on turning left we get to walk on a narrow streets of Motilal Nehru nagar where lanes are narrow and densely populated.Crammed rooms,jumbled electric wires and iron ladders to climb on the top floors are the typical slum house landscapes.
