INSANE Leveling! NEAT but SLOW Westinghouse Traction Elevator - One Northland Plaza - Southfield, MI

The last building at the Northland Towers complex is One Northland Plaza. This 12 floor building is complete with 4 elevators: 3 passengers and 1 service. Oddly enough, Westinghouse got the job to install the elevators here. Sadly, this building is basically abandoned (besides like 1 or 2 small tenants), and thus has a very creepy backrooms like vibe. The 3 passenger cars have since been decommissioned, leaving only the 1 service car running for both passenger and freight use. Despite the scary vibes of this building, that elevator is extremely epic! To start, it's completely original. It has the awesome "Type E" fixtures (I think) which are in great shape overall, it has the awesome "Rubber Band" door operator, working rotodials on the call stations, and it has some INSANE classic leveling! Despite these things, this elevator is clearly very tired. It's EXTREMELY slow for 12 floors (it basically took me 5 minutes for 2 round trips), and it frequently has some trouble deciding when to stop after initially trying to level. As much as I really enjoyed this thing, it once again seems this thing is not well cared for and will likely meet its fate at sometime soon....once again very sad!
