Ballade No. 1 in F Minor, Op. 4, “Fall of Atlantis” Jane Jessamine Bongiorno, composer & pianist 🌊 My Fall of Atlantis is a programmatic ballade for solo piano inspired by the legendary lost civilization of Atlantis as recounted by Plato in Timaeus and Critias. This piece is in four sections, flowing with the story as Plato told it: I. Memoria ex Profundo (Memory from the Deep) II. Mare Circumfluens (The Surrounding Sea) III. Hymnus Deorum et Atlantidum (Hymn of the Gods and Atlanteans) IV.
