FISHING HAMLET - BLOODBORNE INSPIRED DARK ORCHESTRAL FOR WRITING & DEEP FOCUS
"Fishing Hamlet" is a 7-track Bloodborne inspired dark orchestral album following an old hunter sitting on the rocks of a village at the edge of the world, in the silence he just made, asking a question the sea will never answer. It was gone before he got here — he needs to be clear about that. The village, the people, whatever this place was before — gone before he arrived. He just changed what kind of gone it was. Oblivion is better than beasthood. He believes this. He has to believe this. It is the only thing he carries that still holds weight. But he finds himself looking at the boats — what is left of the boats — and thinking about the people who built them. Not the beasts. The people underneath the beasts. A fishing village at the edge of everything. People who woke before the light and went out on the water. Why here. That is the one he cannot put down.

It's quiet now — I did that — the last one was near the boats, what was left of the boats, and it didn't take long, none of them take long anymore, I've gotten very good at this, and I'm not sure that's something to be.
I sit down because there's nothing left to do, that's the only reason I sit anymore, when there's nothing left to do.
It was gone before I got here — I want to be clear about that, not to anyone, just to myself — the village, the people, whatever this place was before, gone before I arrived, I just changed what kind of gone it was.
Oblivion is better than beasthood, I believe this, I have to believe this, it's the only thing I'm carrying that still holds weight. But I find myself looking at the boats and thinking about the people who built them, not the beasts, the people underneath the beasts, who they were before, a fishing village at the edge of everything, people who woke before the light and went out on the water, who salted things and mended nets and argued about small things because the large things seemed far away.
Why here — that's the one I can't put down — not why them, I've made peace with them, the best peace I know how to make, but why here, what did a fishing village do to become the place the world practiced on, what prayer went unanswered, what night did the wrong thing look up from the water and find them looking back.
There's no one to ask, there never is. I've learned that the why doesn't come and I ask anyway, not because I expect an answer, but because to ask why they deserved this is to insist that they didn't, and I will keep insisting, in empty villages and cleared streets and all the quiet places I make in a world that keeps forgetting that quiet isn't the same as peace.
The blood moon doesn't answer. The sea doesn't answer. I always ask. Even when the quiet I make is the only answer I ever get.
