Northbound Ethan Allen arrives into Albany-Rensselaer, NY (ALB)

Amtrak Train 291 arrives into Albany-Rensselaer 2 minutes behind schedule led by Genesis cab unit P42C #9705. Just before the train pulls in from New York Penn Station, we see the Lake Shore Limited has been split into the Boston 448 and New York 48 sections on Track 3 with its motive power from Chicago removed from the Boston section. As the Ethan Allen train hits the platform on Track 4, the Lake Shore's motive power consisting of Siemens Charger ALC-42 #371, P42 #131, ALC-42 #375, and P42 #116 head for the Rensselaer Maintenance Facility on Track 1. We then see P32AC-DM #702 bringing up the rear of the Ethan Allen shoving the train onto the platform. While station work continues for the Ethan Allen, we watch Genesis P42 #98 backed onto Train 448 as it will lead the section to Boston departing in about 10 minutes. Video taken 10/13/2026.
