Chasm Lake from East Longs Peak Trailhead, RMNP - Oct 19, 2026

On Oct 19, 2026, starting from the East Longs Peak Trailhead we hiked to Chasm Lake. The trailhead elevation is 9405 ft (2867 m), the Chasm Lake elevation is 11800 ft (3597 m), for a difference of 2400 ft (732 m). The one way distance is about 4 miles (6.4 km). It took us about 2.5 hours to get to Chasm Lake. The moose footage at the end is from Jim's Grove where we stopped on the way back for lunch.
