LONESOME FRIDAYS 2025 #4 - Find A River (Lowell George)

Here's Find A River, from Lowell George's 1979 solo album Thanks I'll Eat It Here, which is a real sleeper. Evidently Lowell died a week or two into touring this record -- a heart attack along the NJ Turnpike which was brought on by either too much pizza or a speedball (depending on who you ask) — which is why it’s not better known. I fell in love with this gem of a song (and album) as it became the soundtrack to a 1998 road trip from Atlanta to Las Vegas with my college buddy Ian Stearns. I've been trying for years to get my flatpicking brother Chris Eldridge to record this one -- we'll see if it ever takes! The song was written by Fred Tackett of Little Feat. Enjoy!
