Papyrus Museum Austria

The Papyrus Museum is part of the Austrian National Library and is located in the New Castle (Neue Burg) at Heldenplatz in the Hofburg Palace complex in Vienna. It houses the Rainer Collection, which contains approximately 180,000 objects and is inscribed on UNESCO’s Memory of the World register. The permanent exhibition displays around 400 unique objects, including fragments of the Book of the Dead and the Orestes tragedy, spanning three millennia of Egyptian, Greek, and Roman history.
