Lord, Keep Me From Pride

LORD, KEEP ME FROM PRIDE | Psalm 131 | Scripture-Inspired Song What if one of the greatest dangers to our walk with God is not weakness—but pride? “Lord, Keep Me From Pride” is a Scripture-inspired prayer rooted in Psalm 131—a quiet but powerful call to humility, dependence, and a heart that no longer needs to exalt itself. “My heart is not proud, Lord; my eyes are not haughty.” Pride wants to be seen. Pride wants to be right. Pride wants control. Humility learns to rest before God. David describes a soul that has been calmed and quieted like a child resting with its mother. That is the heart of this song. Teach me not to think too highly of myself. Teach me to listen before I speak. Teach me to serve without needing recognition. Teach me to become more like Jesus Christ. Humility is not thinking we have no value. It is remembering where our value, strength, wisdom, and salvation come from. Lord, keep me from pride. 📖 Scripture Inspiration: Psalm 131; Philippians 2:3–8; James 4:6 🎵 Bible Through Music Turning the words, prayers, people, teachings, and truths of Scripture into music—so God’s Word can be heard, remembered, and carried with us throughout the day.
