The Return | Annie R. Smith | Adventist Pioneer Song

Jesus promised that He would return. The question is not whether He will come—but how much longer His people must wait. In “The Return,” Annie R. Smith carries the believer from the sorrow of Calvary to the hope of Christ’s resurrection, and then forward to the glorious promise of His Second Coming. The hymn begins in darkness. The Lamb of God has been slain, and Calvary seems to have brought every hope to an end. But the darkness does not remain.
