Some prayers you have prayed for years. Maybe it's for a test result you're still waiting on, a child who hasn't come home, a marriage that needs healing, or a door that hasn't opened yet. This Wednesday morning prayer is for every heart in a long season of waiting, and for every believer who wants to keep saying thank You before the breakthrough comes. We begin with a woman kneeling in her front flower bed on a cool October afternoon, planting tulip bulbs while she waits on the results of a scan. All winter long, the ground will look empty. But under the frozen soil, roots are growing, and the bulbs actually need the long cold in order to bloom. Waiting is not empty time. God often does His deepest work beneath the surface. We open Psalm 27:14, where David says "wait" twice, as if reminding his own heart. The word for waiting there carries the picture of a braided cord. To wait on the Lord is to be woven tight to Him, like the rope on an old backyard swing. We remember the hidden years of Jesus in Nazareth, the disciples praying together while they waited for the promise, and Paul and Silas singing at midnight in a prison cell. Then we pray over everything we're waiting on: answers, healing, family, provision, and the prayers that didn't turn out the way we hoped. Pray along with the refrain, "I will wait, Lord, and I will still say thank You," and keep trusting His perfect timing. Type "I will wait, Lord, and I will still say thank You" in the comments if you're thanking God in your own season of waiting, and share this prayer with someone who has been praying for a long time. 🙏 In This Prayer: • Thanking God before the answer arrives • Tulip bulbs in October: why waiting is never empty time • God's deepest work happens beneath the surface • Psalm 27:14 and why David had to say "wait" twice • Waiting on the Lord as being braided and bound to Him • The night-watchman's hope in Psalm 130 • The hidden years of Jesus in Nazareth • The disciples praying together as they waited for the promise • Paul and Silas singing at midnight, not to earn freedom, but because they trusted God • Rejoicing even when the fig tree does not blossom • Prayer for those waiting on test results, healing, and hospital news • Prayer for prodigals, family reconciliation, work, and provision • Comfort for the prayers that ended in disappointment • Making your own "Waiting" reminder to keep giving thanks • Hope for what we cannot yet see 📖 Key Bible Verses: 1.
