DIY Log Shelter Build Nearly Complete in the Newfoundland Wilderness | Part 3 Our DIY log shelter in the Newfoundland wilderness is nearly complete! In Part 3 of our off-grid shelter build, we're making some serious progress as we finish the roof framing and get one step closer to having our very own wilderness getaway! We kick things off on Day 1 in the workshop, where we get busy building the floor, window, and door frames for the shelter. On Day 2, we head back into the Newfoundland woods to continue construction! We cut and gather more small logs for the roof, install the door frame, and finish shaping the roof structure. By the end of the day, the roof framing is finally complete and ready for a tarp! Of course, no Newfoundland outdoor adventure would be complete without a good cook-up! We take a well-earned break to enjoy some delicious chicken sandwiches and a hot cup of tea in the woods. With the shelter really starting to come together, we're getting closer than ever to finishing this project! *Coming up in Part 4:* We'll be installing the roof tarp, fitting the window, working on the floor, and packing moss between the logs to help seal up the shelter!
