'Don't Make Me Into Your Idol' Sadie St. Claire (Official Music Video) | Southern Gothic Americana

They warned her not to worship idols. But no one noticed they were carving one. 'Don't Make Me Into Your Idol' is the third chapter of T'he 10 Rules They Gave Me', Sadie St. Claire's Southern Gothic concept album inspired by the Ten Commandments. Growing up, she was taught to become the perfect daughter, the perfect Christian, the perfect future wife. Every expectation chipped away another piece of who she really was until the image everyone loved no longer felt like her own. This song asks a simple question: What happens when people love the version of you they created... more than the person you are?
