Canada’s humanoid robots are no longer science fiction. From retail stores and warehouses to frozen lakes and disaster zones, a new generation of Canadian robots is already learning, lifting, cooking, walking, and working alongside humans.
In this video, we count down 8 Canadian humanoid robots that are changing what machines can do. We begin with Sanctuary AI’s Phoenix, a robot designed with human-like hands, advanced touch sensing, and an AI control system capable of learning new tasks.
Then we explore Kestrel Labs Lynx, which combines cameras inside its palms with ultra-sensitive fingertips; Tundra Dynamics Aurora, an all-electric robot capable of navigating frozen surfaces; and Miry Robotics MH3, a wheeled humanoid with remarkable dexterity and strength.
The list gets even more impressive with Portage Robotic Stride, which has already completed more than 80,000 hours of real-world operation across multiple facilities, followed by Borealis Motors Vanguard and Ironwood Kinetics Titan, machines designed to bring humanoid robots into factories at massive scale.
But the most important robot is Polaris—a machine secretly developed by a Canadian space agency and built from scratch in just seven months. Its technology and the engineers who worked on it helped inspire an entire Canadian humanoid robotics ecosystem.
These machines raise a much bigger question: what happens when robots can perform the same physical tasks humans do—and learn new ones faster than ever?
Watch until the end to see why Canada’s humanoid robot industry could be much further ahead than most people realize.
