Caring for Mother Cow & Goat Giving Birth in the Forest Rain | Making a Bamboo Bell for My Buffalo

Caring for Mother Cow & Goat Giving Birth in the Forest Rain | Making a Bamboo Bell for My Buffalo Managing a mountain farm always brings unexpected challenges, especially when heavy rain pours across the hills. Recently, I noticed our pregnant mother cow & goat had wandered deep into the wet forest to give birth in the rain. Searching through the slippery mountain trails & thick brush, I finally found the mothers resting alongside their newborn calf & baby goats. I carefully wiped the little babies dry, guided the herd back home to a warm shelter with fresh straw, & cooked a hot pot of nutritious corn & soybean mash over the wood fire to help the mothers recover their strength. Later in the week, to make sure my animals never get lost in the deep forest again, I harvested thick bamboo stalks & carved a traditional bamboo bell by hand to tie around my buffalo's neck. Back at the farmyard, I also sliced fresh cassava roots to cook warm feed for my hungry black pigs, picked garden greens for our fluffy rabbits, & cleaned the animal coops while checking on our newborn baby pigeons.
