Honda did more than move from motorcycles to passenger cars: it did it with a small, high-revving roadster whose chain-driven rear wheels pointed forward to a mechanical lineage that reappeared nearly thirty years later. The S800 was a 1966 JDM roadster built at Suzuka with high-rpm intervals and a 100-mph capability in a body smaller than a modern compact. This video traces the industrial bet, how the roadster was forced to evolve, how the chain drive was replaced with a conventional differential, and why the identity shifted rather than stopped. It was not Honda's first car, the T360, S500 and S600 came before it, making it an even cleaner case study in doctrine transfer.
