Following the straight line of a manmade canal, a 19th‑century waterway linking two rivers. The late afternoon sun casts long amber and gold shadows across the reedbeds, the air still and warm, the only sounds the swish of reeds and the distant rumble of a train along the embankment. Two towering electricity pylons stride across the marsh, their latticework stark against the sky — industrial sentinels that carry power lines over the two parallel-wide river waters. A boat passes. The sky begins to change, bruised clouds building on the horizon, the light shifting from honeyed gold to deepening slate-grey. The first heavy drops of rain begin to fall, pattering on the surface of the canal and umbrella. The storm approaches, the reeds bending in the rising wind. The walk continues until the rain settles in, the marsh growing dark and still • Stormy Evening Walk Along Wetland Link Bet... . The walk follows the New Cut, linking the Rivers Waveney and Yare.
No talking. Just atmosphere.
