❄️ Let Pigment Paint the Landscape | Painting a Frozen Prairie Evening in Watercolor Come spend some quiet painting time with me as I paint a frozen prairie landscape beneath a soft evening sky. No talking — just watercolor, music, and the painting gradually taking shape. 🎨❄️ For this painting I wanted the sky and fading winter light to carry the mood, using soft blues, lavender and plenty of Holbein Pink to create the cooler cloud passages and subtle reflected colour across the frozen water. As with the other paintings in my Let Pigment Paint the Landscape series, I tried not to control every passage. Instead, I let wet washes mingle, soften and create some of the atmosphere naturally before adding the darker prairie grasses, distant trees and foreground details.
